It's a game. Played by my alma mater. I don't attach any of my self-worth to how well or poorly VT's football team plays. I love to follow the team. I root for the players and coaches. I assume they are all giving their best to be the best they can be. It wouldn't occur to me to become emotional (angry, frustrated, sad, etc.) over a game played by people who I don't know personally.

If you're more invested than that and feel that the success of the program matters a lot in your life, that's cool.
